OIL SEPARATION SYSTEM FOR COVERED GARAGES
For flow rates up to 0.2 l/sec. and up to 0.4 l/sec. This type of system is used to capture oily residues released by vehicles in transit and parked inside covered garages. Oil separation efficiency can reach 98%, although it also depends on the quality of the incoming water. The quality of the outgoing water must be assessed through periodic chemical analyses.
Sizing criteria:
Sizing is carried out on the basis of the incoming flow rate, also considering any floor washing performed with equipment other than scrubber-dryers.
Operational aspects:
Maintenance of the oil separator is simple and mainly consists of removing settled sludge and recovering and disposing of the accumulated oil. Periodic washing of the coalescence filter is recommended.
Products and technical specifications:
The system consists of a monolithic reinforced concrete element with internal dimensions Ø100 x 100h (monoblock weight 900 kg) or Ø150 x 100 h (monoblock weight 1200 kg), internally divided into three suitably sized chambers:
In the first chamber, sedimentation takes place together with the separation of heavy substances such as sand, soil, etc., as well as oil separation;
The second chamber is designed to house a coalescence filter panel;
The third chamber is used as a temporary storage area for oily substances coming, through a ball valve, from the extraction pipe.
The cover is made with a steel plate suitable for pedestrian or vehicular traffic (on request).
